This is great, now we can look just like the Army and Air Force with their spiffy jogging suits. How cool is that. I'm also really excited that they have decided to waste time and money developing and issuing us jogging suits rather than gear that we are actually in need of. 112 bucks? You have got to be kidding me. I'm pretty sure I can go buy the o/d green sweats for under 10. Why not just give that money to some privates, PFCs and lance corporals so that we can keep them happy.
I'm sure the contract to make these jogging suits was given to someone kissing the commandant's ass or something. I agree the previous post. How is it that they still issued me those twenty year old flak jacket's when I was enlisted between 1998-2005? These suits are nothing more than wasteful spending. It is a distraction given to the younger Marines to take their minds of this war for oil.
I understand that some may think that these new PT suits are way too expensive and resemble something that the Army or Air Force currently use. However, take this into consideration, we as Marines have been using the most antiquated gear since 1775. The green-on-green sweats are good for keeping warm, but they aren't really practical for regular PT, not to mention the fact that they do not look all that great! We as Marines have always had the best uniforms and we pride ourselves on looking great and representing the Corps with our immaculate image. So why should our PT gear be any different?
It is about time that the individual Marines got some nice PT gear that also displays the name of our beloved service!
Anybody interested, the manufacturer of the running suit is: InSport, Inc. Their web address is: www.InSport.com. I went to their site but, the information was limited. You may have to email or write them to get more information. Anybody with better information let us know. Chao
