I'm no expert on the equipment. I was sold until I read one of their articles. They probably don't realize that at the end of the article, an orthopedic doc said that one didn't really need to do this...nor "balance on balls, etc." He went on to say that injuries can occur, esp. on those who are "not 20 yrs old" and don't "have the flexibility." There could be problems with tendon and other damage (I don't have the article in front of me.) He went on to say that if you used reg weightlifting that you would essentially hit all the same muscles "from all angles." I'm not weightlifting expert but that was enough for me to say, "Will I reallyyyyy use this?" "Is it really that advantageous?" I personally think I'll wait until the price falls AND to really see if it turns out to be what they say (hopefully I'll spot one from a friend.)
I've used TRX for last 2-3 months with a navy trainer and have had amazing results- esp with back, shoulders, and core. It helps greatly with balance as well... I've gained mass and lost fat -- so it's well worth the investment!
I lost ten pounds just by walking and running two miles a day for two weeks, that and some "push backs" form the table from time to time works pretty good. I'll stick to that until they come out with something thats more fun to do. Besides, we use to do this with a rope when I was in the Army. We use to do endurance fitness training back then, kinda makes me wonder what kind of PT they are doing now.
I've been using TRX consistently for over a year now and absolutely love it. I use it at home and take it with me on the road so I never miss my workouts...in fact I enjoy using in non-traditional places like the beach (hook up to VB post) and in the mountains (anchor to a tree)...great stuff!

It has uses for certain. However once again the army say "Navy SEAL" slapped on an item and went ga ga over it. If anyone has ever used the usa (universal strength apparatus) from bodyweightculture. you can see how much more use you can get ouf of that.
Plus I would challgenge of of the Ft. Bragg soldiers to test their TRX against the Battling Ropes System (BRS) from John Broofield He lives just outside of Ft. Bragg (Souther Pines) and his well known for Velocity/musular endurance training with a simple device as well.
Sounds like this guy is invetnive, into workouts, and the portability of the thing is a plus for people who travel. However, work out systems and fad diets a dime-a-dozen: if you find one that works for you, great! However, when we re-do the entire Army PT program, I'm suspiscious. This guy is also a good salesman, with "former SEAL' credentials-like the SEALs, SPETSNAZ, CIA work out systems, right? DoD never leanred "buyer beware" If they ran it like their own, mercenary for hire, pay for performace, I bet you'd see some genuine "business practices" that'd be alto more "old school", which also worked.
