Not exactly true, fiber will make you feel a little more full, I stress little Unless you eat it three meals a day, I doubt you will get any significant weight loss, even that's doubtful.
I use fiber everyday, not for weight loss, but for cholesterol! I've not experienced weight loss.
Keep smiling, everyone will wonder what you've been up to!
Agree with Bergy; they only help with diet/ hunger control because it helps you feel full. Nothing to do with weight loss.
Almonds can be another way to help curb hunger; almonds (and the nuts of most trees) contain leptin, a hormone which acts as a feedback inhibitor to your brain to curb appetite and increase metabolism. Studies have shown that genetically obese mice lacked the gene to produce leptin, and when injected with leptin their body weight returned to normal. Eat and handful of almonds about 30 minutes before a meal, then measure out smaller portion sizes for your meal. After you're done eating you will feel more full, thus you will eat less which can help with weight loss.

Bingo. It's all about calorie intake/expenditure. Don't eat a bag of chips/cookies, or a tub of ice cream. Alcohol is empty calories. I'm not saying don't enjoy the foods that you like, I'm saying what Cold War Scout said: Move. Don't be one of those lazy people who circle the parking lot for the closest parking spot. It's okay to walk a bit. I despise the people who go to the gym to socialize and not work out. They hog the machines that I want, and while working out their pointless bantering is annoying.
I had read an article posted on MSN's main page about a month back. The title had caught my attention. It was Entitled 'Exercise not the way to loose weight.'
To my amusement the guy was dead serious as to why you don't lose weight. Saying that after people work out for thirty minutes in the gym they would go treat themselves to some kind of 'treat' (Fast food, or fatty food.) All I could think was. 'Well no **** its not going work if your going to run for thirty minutes then eat a calorie killer like that.
As for the fiber Ver, it's a natural way to keep your stools regular, the loose weight quick that use fiber as weight lose are saying it will clean your colon of all it's built up sludge.
But if you need fiber because your diet lacks it, I'd suggest the new Fiber One's that are out, (except for the Bran) they taste good. My two year old steals my cereal every time I have it because she likes it, and she wont eat anything but Yogaurt, hotdogs and Mac and Cheese!
The best thing about fiber, besides staying regular, is that they are undigestible carbs. They don't count if your'e the carb-counting type.
Losing weight is EXTREMELY simple: eat less calories than you expend. That's it, period.
However, losing weight and being skinny won't make you fit. There are plenty of really skinny people out there who have flat stomachs yet no definition. These "skinny" people have a lot higher body fat % than they realize. I'm not saying they're at 20% body fat or anything like that, but if you see no definition at all, there's no way you're anywhere under 10% body fat.
You need to work out along with proper diet. Don't think of healthy eating as "going on a diet". Every human is on one type of diet or another. Some people choose to not care what goes in their body. That's their "diet". Looking good is more diet than working out, but the more you work out the healthier you'll be.
I'm 34 years old, 6 foot, 195 lbs. If I were to live a sedentary lifestyle sitting at a desk and never working out, I would only need about 2200 calories per day. If I ate 2200 calories per day I would stay the same weight. Let's say I have an active job, do PT in the morning, and then workout after work, that would be a very active lifestyle. My caloric needs would be 3500+. If I still ate 2200 calories at very active lifestyle pace, I would lose about 2.5 lbs per week, give or take. Every 500 calories you bank on average per day for a week equals a pound lost.
