A word to the wise, young guys, stop day dreaming, try to pass the rerquiired tests, first. Get in shape BEFORE you go to training. Get a regular assignment so that you get used to military life; THEN ask for transfer to the elite forced/
I spent 15 months in Vietnam and a year as a Military Training Instructor, I'm going to be 63 in 10 days and have a heart condition.
I'd love to get back in the game, most of us 'Nam vets would!!! BUT...it's YOUR game now, we're with you 1000 percent in heart AND mind. You young, healthy men and women have to pick up where we left off.
GOOD HUNTING, GOD BE WITH YOU AND KICK SOME *** FOR US!!!
I got out of the Marines in 2005, only spent 4 years but I miss it so much that I'm going back, this time to the reserves, I wish I could do boot camp over again..I'm 36 and i have to run a 1st class..I've never been one of those fast runners that are always up front with all the Staff NCO's..i'm more like a back of the formation kinda girl..but my goal this time around is to be a minute and a half quarter miler... i think if you put your mind to it anyone is capable of anything! Good Luck to anyone who is trying to overcome their mental obstacles...Semper Fi
