McGuire's Irish Pub is indeed a good brew spot. But long before McGuire's was in Pensacola, the brew spot to go to was Trader Jon's in downtown Pensacola. Unfortunately, when Trader Jon passed on, the bar folded. But to many older Navy pilots/NFOs Traders was the place to go.

Trader Johns in Pensacola was the best.

There was a place in Stuttgart called the Longhorn in the late 80's. A big Country bar. Fun place. Half hour train ride, another 20 minutes streetcar, well worth thre trip from Goppingen.

Hands down, the best place to quench a beer thirst in Seoul, Korea is the 3 Alley Pub in the Itaewon shopping and entertainment district. Check out the web page
(no outside links allowed) please read 'forums discussion basics located at the top of the forum page. Thank you!

Anybody that was stationed in the Philippines or did a West Pac has stories of places like the Nipa Hut in A.C. or Rolling Stones and of course T's Tavern in Olongapo.

Kathy Roth-Douquet has written some good stuff in the past, if I have her correctly, and while I stick to my guns in my post above, I correct the gender of the writer.

I believe the sugar shack in Fayettville N.C. is now closed but back in the 80s it was a real hot spot it was a small private club but it had over 100,000 registered members once a member always a member. I had some great times there after the bar would close all the regulars would go to daves waffle house it was a wild time

I'm a little surprised McP’s on Coronado Island didn't make the cut. It's owned and operated
by former Navy SEAL, Greg McPartlin, and is all about the military. Fascinating memorabilia/decor.

Aschaffenburg West Germany 1968-1970. Lets see, where to start. Dixie Bar, Nizza Bar, The Crazy Horse and in my opinion the Rex Bar. The owner of the Rex Bar was Henri Gruber. He was a translator during WWII, for the allies I hope. There were more but I can't remember the names. Sp5 Maness

The Old Sailor's Bar in Amsterdam. It's usually where we started--and ended--the night (often the next morning) on our monthly trips to A'dam when I was stationed in Holland. What memories...
