GREAT IDEA
It is past time the American Public be shown just how fragile peace and security are around the world. We sit here guarded by two oceans, even though we are invaded by illegals from our landed neighbors. and think that the rest of the world, especially the high seas are protected by common interest of peoples around the world. We have no idea,as a group, of what is going on in other places. Even travelers are guarded or insulated in most instances, but the high seas are totally open to such pirates and criminals as those that plyed the deep many centuries ago. Nothing on the 7 seas has changed much and will not until people sitting in the comfort of their media centers are shown the truth of criminal actions around our globe.

I wonder if it will be Mr. Obama's version or will it be what really happened.

During WWII merchant ships were manned with gun crews.
The crews were known as "armed guards". Many U.S. banks also employ armed guards. I'm thinking that armed bank guards could serve as a model for today's merchant shipping. Blowing some of the piracy prone swine out of the water should make the "easy pickins" somewhat less easy. Now, there is a thought for a good TV series.

Oh, and incidently, to the above poster: Mr Numbers. That is not "Mr. Obama" but rather President Obama.

"Two crews for 44 Blue Productions hope to be on board Navy vessels patrolling in the pirate-infested waters off the coast of Africa within two weeks. The company is aiming to have a series ready to put on the air by September, said Rasha Drachkovitch, 44 Blue's president and founder."

I know if these guys had gone to the Army with this idea they would have been run off post with a harsh message to not return. I hope the Navy don't do this cause this is not a game or some fake reality show, this is real.
