Whenever diversity is touted as a CNO policy, I figure it is code language for another quota system. Leaders will be held accountable for ensuring the advancement of minorities and women, regardless of their performance. This will only serve to hurt white men. This can only be bad for the Navy and our nation, as white men are by far the largest group in the Navy, and will likely always be, not because of a lack of leadership, but because white men like to go into the Navy more than other groups. CNO: kindly leave the negative quota systems in the past. |

Commander, I agree, but on the other hand, it has been shown that if there isn't some even strain on this then people get shafted too. Ideally we should have promotion by merit only but that never seems to be the case. A person should be judged on their performance only and until we get to that these things will crop up every now and then. ETCS(SW)USN ret |
