Bastards!! Curse
Nov. 10 is a parade honoring the 25th anniversary of The Wall. Imagine what would have happen to the clowns that did this if it was tried at that time. Gun

Outraged, Pi**ed, Mad, Irate, all of those, but more then anything just really really sad..

I just flat don't understand the lions share of the people of our great country. Unthinking, Self centered, but more then anything unCAREING.

People do not have any respect for other people's property. This made be a national memorial but it's the property of the 58000 soldier who died/MIA plus the veterans of that time. I was aways taught to respest someones property whatever it may be. I might think it's junk but it may be a treasure to some one else or it might be all they have.
I hope they find the people that did this and give them a punishment that is deserving---not a slap on the wrist.

Gutless coward(s)! They are too weak in character to even protest in the light. I think this calls for an old fashioned tar and feathering.

Hasn't this topic already been covered and it turned out that it was actually a maintenance error that in no way permanantly damaged the wall?

What type of cretin does it take to perform such an abominable act? The sacrifice of our men and women in the Vietnam War was great and the memorial wall that attests to that sacrifice is a reminder to us all of the cost of war in human terms. I really feel sorry for a person of such low character that would do such a thing. And to the person that did it....I hope that it haunts you each moment of your miserable existence!

Not that I remember, but if you remember the thread or some type of link to a news article by all means show it.

It's a shame and a disgrace.

That monument, a poignant tribute to the thousands of young Americans lost in a tragic war should not be the focus of any political group, or activity. The dead don't need any validation.

It shouldn't need 'defending' for it doesn't 'belong' to any Americans. It, like an altar, commemorates a great sacrifice, not a political action.

The topic HAS been covered but it was never determined whether it was an accident or vandalism. It has now been determined and reported - vandalism. Read the article and you will find they are STILL cleaning on the taxpayers' dime.

Yes, I saw IHawker's links. In those you blamed an "agent provocateur" type of conspiracy. Now its a maintenance issue. If its brought up again what will it be aliens(space type)? Roll Eyes

I just hope whether or not you realize this is sick. I can't believe that people would do this to one of the most reveared monuments in the United States Capital. Whoever did this is sick and wrong. I hope they find whoever did this and put him in jail. whether you are for war or not everyone should realize that this wall is to celebrate people who went to war and never came home. This guy is sick, and if he had anything to do with the anti-Iraq war protestors now people have a real reason to dislike them.
