I fervently agree with the House's approval to raise the Military Budget to 3.5 percent. I do however, have some concerns of which to voice. First, I think the Problem of excessive spending, without regards to the necessities, of where this money can most benefit our Military; should be given first and foremost a Priority. There should be an outline and detailed account with specifics; to determine how, and where this money is to be spent.
Secondly, A country cannot be defended, with inferior weapons. This country's weaponry should be higher than our enemies. We should be able to fortify our own defenses against Terrorism and War. One cannot do this with dilapated and outdated equipment. With trucks that do not run, and guns and other equipment that are not functioning properly. Also, without the money to develope new weapons in keeping with today's technology; we would not be the leader or dominant in world power. We would staginate in our own mire, giving our enemies the edge they need to defeat us.
Thirdly, I am in favor of domestic programs. However, I would caution the wasteful spending of money in this area, at this point in time, that could be better used elsewhere in this Country's defense. I believe that Caution is the Word in any Defense. Will this money be put into programs that desperately need it for the Defense of our country; or will it be spent on Wasteful and Un-needed things?. That is the question I pose, and the one that most concerns me. I hope the House has and will give extreme caution in this area. Let us get the Military's job done, with better equipment, more personnel and better goals for a brighter and more optimistic future; not just for us, but for our Children's sake.

Someone who cares
