I FEEL THIS OPTION SHOULD BE AVAILABLE TO ALL SOLDIERS , NOT JUST THOSE RE-ENLISTING.

I think all branches should have this available to them and re-enlisted should not be the only ones able to use this!! Wink

Is there any information about other soldiers that already have more than ten years of active service? I don't think this should be limited to key MOS positions that have six years and agree to four more years of service. Many soldiers are already eligible or close to retirement and have obtained a degree already. They should have the ability to allow their dependents to use the GI Bill if they do not still need it for more education.

I completely agree. I was told by the MSG in charge of my Reserves company that I could not use the G.I. Bill and TA at the same time. Obviously, I can, but good luck to me when it comes to getting back pay for those months. My fiance and I are now graduating, and I have at least 5 months of benefits. He's going on to chiropractic school, while I'm going to volunteer for deployment to help pay for his tuition. I would love to use the remaining benefits on him. I basically have a degree.
Perhaps that should be a prerequisite: sign away the benefits to your spouse. You'd have no one to blame but yourself if you end up divorced and your lawyer can't help you out. Roll Eyes
