RE: http://forums.military.com/money-for-school/navy-education-programs
I'm currently working in the UK a couple hours from any US facility. I'm applying to graduate schools in the state as I retire 01 Jun 09. Is there a way to be reembused for taking the GMAT or GRE or any of the entrance exams required to attend school? |

Yes. The GMAT and GRE are approved for the VA to reimburse you after you have taken the exam.
Here's what you do... 1) Fill out and send the VA a VA Form 22-1990 (an on line application is good to go also). This will establish your claim with the VA. No 1990 equals no money. 2) send VA a VA Form 22-0803 or VA Form 21-4138 along with proof that you took whatever test. If you can't find either of those forms you can hand write or type up something requesting reimbursement. Whether you send in a form or hand write something, you must provide the VA with the following information - Your name and social security # - The name of the test you took - The name and address of the organization issuing the test - The date you took the test on - The cost of the test - The test result (pass /fail)if applicable - The following statement must be on whatever you send in "I authorize release of my test information to the VA" and then sign your name to that statement. Remember, neatness does count when you are requesting money. If you fail a test/certification, send that in to the VA too. The VA will pay for a failed test/certification. You can get reimbursed for any approved test even if you take and fail the test 10 times. But once you pass any particular test, that is it for that test. Good luck |
