My name is Pete Lerro and I am currently working on a documentary on Lighthouse Keepers. This is a privately funded project with the intention to draw awareness to lighthouse and Coast Guard history. From what I have seen so far, no other documentary has been solely dedicated to lighthouse keepers, just lighthouse in general.

So far I have interviewed 14 former lighthouse keepers as well as a number of current preservationist. If anyone is interested in participating, please feel free to contact me.
Regards,

Pete Lerro

I spent a couple of very fine hours with Pete Lerro last week discussing my time on the Graves Light. If any of you old farts better known as Wickies have a story to tell and Pete is in your neighborhood, spend a little time on what promises to be a great media project.

I can't wait to see the finished product.

it's not even close to Mare Island. East Brothers Light is off Richmond in San Pablo Bay.

LIGHTHOUSE KEEPERS

Lighthouse keepers have it easy
All year round their homes are breezy
Noises don't disturb their loabors
For they haven't any neighbors
They don't need baskets for old papers
Just one careless motion
And their trash drop's in the ocean
They don't need nine holes or twenty
They get exercise a plenty
Each trip up the spirat srairway
Equals three around the fairway
Window shades are never needed
They can dress or strip unheeded
Walkeful brat don't have a conniptions
Neighbors don't give a long descriptions
When I am old and wobn't need pity
I shall leave the sullied city
Climb a lighthouse bar the door
And trim my wicks forever more
