One of the tour guides at the Montauk Lighthouse was asking about a VEGA 25 and VEGA 50. I unfortunatley had to say I don't know in front of more than a few tourists; I hate that. Does anyone have a link about these lights? I don't like to be stunted too long about info in my field.
Yeah but googling would mean I dont' get to talk to you guys, besides maybe someone else will read this and feel a litle more enlightened. Thanks for the google idea though, I always forget about that.
Vega 25? Are they refering to vega VRB 25. Which is the variable rotating beacon...Oh. Been a while since the ANT. 50 not sure about but in LA we used VRB 25's in our lighthouses. Hope this helps. John
the vega's are a self contained light that replace the 155's. the batteries and solar panel are built into the unit. there trying them out in d7, so far so good. no reported promblems yet.
its been a year since i was at the ANT, but i thought vegas were the VRB (vega rotating beacon) 25's and the Carmanahs were the all inclusive solar, LED lights. Unless Vegas started making self contained beacons now too... EGH technology - who can keep up. ok last min - i decided not to be lazy ... VRB 25's VEGA LED & Marine Beacons Did we start using Vega's brand over Carmanahs? Did it look like any of these?
Jamie, You know what a VEGA is. It is that new light that sits on top of the break walls. They are a pyramid type body with that round led light on top. The battery and solar panels are built in and on to the unit. just remember Patchogue light 5. There you go.
