I worked the AXE from 03' to 06' some days I hated it but most days I loved it. We weathered 3 Hurricanes and for 2 of them we only had the barge to work off. I would like to think of the crew I worked with one of the most flexible crews in the Coast Guard. I would go back anytime, you feel good at the end of the day knowing that you actually worked. I also was TAD on the Pamlico, Hudson and kinda on the Wedge. All were great crews. If anyone needs a crane operator look me up in a year or 2 I'll be availible.

KENNEBEC 2000-2001! Who are you bunnywhole? No profile?
Peppy's in Crisfield, MD and the rotting pier in Coinjock, NC are two great port calls. Beer on the pier is an AtoN way of life.

Ahh Yes WLIC duty the best dirty little secret in the Guard. Was XPO of Anvil out of Charleston, Great AOR. After that went to CGC Saginaw Out of Mobile as XPO, retired off of her. Also another great AOR East to Carabell and west to MS.

There was a BM1 at Islamorada who's name I can never spell but here's my best shot, Mo Entiem.

He made CWO and I believe he was the CO on the CGC Axe when you were on, around 2003, maybe? Great guy. We went onboard for a visit one day in the St. Pete area...we were on our CBP boat if any of you recall.

My brother served a couple of years on the CGC Hudson in Miami for his first billot out of bootcamp.

QM Wheels I was at Ant Crisfield for 3yrs before coming to Kennebec so I know all about Peppy's speaking of Coinjock we were just there last week the crew went to the American Legion and had a great time very nice people. 21YRS I think you are talking about Mr. Etiemble I know I didn't spell that right. He was CO of the Vice and a 110 Now is the Afloat detailer.

ChicksDig, you did spell his name right but you used the wrong vice, it's VISE Big Grin I was on there when he was the CO. I am quite certain he was never on the AXE.

I do believe we are talking about the same person. Short guy, dark hair, super squared away.

He did go to a 110' from what I remember.

Your guess is as good as mine on the spelling. I believe it was pronounced "Etiem" or at least he never corrected me when I called him that. Usually I just called him "Mo" since I knew him while I was in Customs, not the Coast Guard.

I was on Sledge from '04 - '05. Made MK2 and transferred. Awesome job, fun port calls at Philly, Kent Island, and of course Havre "Disgrace", MD. Only if you like the sauce though....

Just got to the Sledge this past summer. Made MK2 two months later. The detailer originaly wanted to send me off somewhere else. Now it looks like I will be able to stay for a while. Good thing too. Pretty nice underway time and fulfilling work.

I was on SLEDGE from '99-'02. The trips I remember fondly were Hurricane Frank clean-up in Pamlico and Albomaro Sounds, the VA In-Side Pass run to Watchapreeg, VA.(please excuse the spelling.) and the NJ ICW runs.

Nothing like staying in Exmore a few days while the water come up heh Steve. A couple more days in that town I might have been married or buried in the marsh!!

LJ,
I remember an individual that was built like a pitbull. Was that the one that would have buried you? Besides, didn't a certain BM2/BM1 take care of making sure there would be no wedding? Wink
