Growing old is a good thing, especially when you consider the alternative. May you all grow old. Dave

I know this has NOTHING to do with the topic (sorry) but two questions for "Grandpa Wave" Dave: Do you still have that handwritten diary you kept in your desk at Coos Bay?? I still laugh my butt off every time I think of it! (Especially the part when you were eating porkchops and then had to hold muster and take a head count on your teeth!!!)
And my other question is when is the D13 CMC (Big John) gonna retire??
I may be out that way, sometime soon, and would like to see everyone.

Thanks,
Bob

Bob,
I believe that book is a POW, being held by my Ex. I dont hold much hope for a recovery. I'v pretty much decided that it is permanently MIA, along with other things when I made my great escape. Too bad, there was some funny stuff in there.
I have not heard from John for several months, but if ya let me know when you are going to be around I will make sure and get him. Would love to get together and swap some lies over a cool one, or two, or three, or more. Might even drag Little wave along. Dave

Sorry if I'm repeating earlier sentiments...

Nothing wrong with dinosaur points, with the exception of the fact that a select few of the guys benefitting from them still whine about the young guys who "advance too quickly".

I swear, if they put forward an initiative to double the weight of TIS/TIG towards the final score, it would have my stamp on it if I could stop hearing the same tired comments about young E-6s, Chiefs, etc.

Let me put it this way, I got a 69% on the NOV07 SWE (BM1) and by raw score I was 9th of 163. After my deficiencies were factored in (sea points, TIS/TIG, award points) it put me at 34th, still well above the cut. Let me restate that this was with a 69%!!! A D+ anywhere else in the world! I know it's more compe***ive for BMC, but hit the pubs and advance.

Sorry to get wound up, just very firm in my opinions. By the way, there's no such thing as "just being a bad test taker". Taking tests is a skill set just like anything else that we learn!
