I am taking the DWO test next week and think I have it down pretty good, but wanted to know if anyone knew/had any good study guides. I have looked at everything on bm.net but wanted to see if there was anything out there.
Check out this site. http://www.usboating.com/test.htm Go thru the "rules of the road" test. This online practice test has helped many pass their DWO's and NAV rules...djc.
That is a good sight. If by chance you dont pass, reschedule right away and stick with it. Dont let to much time go by, if i recall the wait time is 21 day's between each test. Good luck!!
I just passed the DWO this morning. I honestly cannot study using the book, but thats just me. I have notes from when I took my NAV rules a couple of years ago where I basically took the book into my own words and wrote it down, and I study from that. Then the link I posted above helped just as much if not more. Do 50-100 questions a night for 2 weeks and I bet you will be ready for the test...good luck..djc.
I past mine yesterday, 96. I also took the open book, 88, 83, did anyone find that more difficult? I really didnt study esp with the open book, thought I knew it.. lol. good luck, keep Q&A the juniors, learn alot more that way.. still awaiting orders... hahahahahah
You can purchase a DWo couse book from the river school MCPO Gary Kine USCG Ret teaches there and the school offers a weeklong course with a great chance of passing at the end of the course or you can buy the book online.I remeber the DWO as if I am incharge of the boat how do I interpret this rule or that rule and apply it.
