Little Creek is a nice station and is located on the Naval Amphibious Base in Virginia Beach. They have a two 47's and a couple of 25's. They work a lot with the 87's in the area conducting escorts. They also have the VBST attached to them as well. There are 3 87's co-located at the station.
Station Annapolis was great. Not sure what they have now but there were two 41s when I was there. The summer is fairly busy with SAR and RBS/BWI. A little quiet during the winter though. I'm a little biased having grown up in the area, but Annapolis is a cool town (despite the Naval Academy).
Little Creek was a great time, my favorite unit in almost 7 years in. Got my Cox'n qual there on the 47/25/23, and I think the BMCM there is the same as a few years ago....Great guy! AOR is pretty cool too, Lynnhaven Inlet in the summer is nice
Dont let anyone talk you into taking a ride on the 23/25 in the winter. The Chesapeake can get nasty pretty quick...
Most Stations are all about what you put into it. I was on the CGC Gallatin for three Years, Station Charleston for 2, and Station Tawas, MI for 4 years. At every unit there are its ups and downs. I have visited alot of stations in D5, D7, and D9. So basically it has to be the town or city you want. Station Tawas, the job here was fun for four years, a great learning environment, and not over loaded with work. The Town of tawas sucks if you don't hunt or fish.
Station Charleston, Awesome city and still had a lot of fun constantly running cases and so on.
