BM MK we are a team RAH RAH RAH fight on to victory. RAH RAH RAH We're always ready for the call,
We place our trust in Thee.
Through SURF and storm and howling gale,
High shall our purpose be.
"Semper Paratus" is our guide,
Our fame, our glory too.
To fight to save or fight to die,
Aye! Coast Guard, we are for you

From Aztec Shore to Arctic Zone,
To Europe and Far East,
The Flag is carried by our ships
In times of war and peace;
And never have we struck it yet,
In spite of foemen's might,
Who cheered our crews and cheered again
For showing us how to fight.

The poor cook he caught the fits, threw away all my grits, then he took and ate all of my corn.

Let me go home, I want to go home, this is the worst trip I've ever been on.

My issue with MK's is that they don't understand (generally) that they are in the military. The VAST majority of them work as though they are a part of a union and not a part of the CG.

Hmmmm, the MK's I worked with at times would be working well into the night to get the 41 UTB back to Bravo status. No overtime pay...doesn't sound much like a union to me.

Was there an election that gave you the right to speak of the "VAST majority" of Mks? I'm not sure my vote got counted. I suddenly feel disenfranchised. I like Boatswain Mates and hold no grudges, but I really think we wouldn't have elected one as a spokesperson.
Maybe next time you should express that your feelings are from your experiences and that you don't really even know the "VAST majority" of MKs.
Have a super-snipey day, boats.

More time's then not the case doesn't get complete without the MK's.

I don't agree with NyCrims post about vast majority but,

quoted by Downoutlaw: "but I really think we wouldn't have elected one as a spokesperson."

Although it wasn't an election, our spokesperson is a BM. MCPOCG.

The MCPOCG is the spokesperson for the Enlisted Force. That's why we have a Rating Force Master Chief. Maybe we should have them box it out for us. Smile
Besides that, I've met Master Chief Bowen and he doesn't seem to subscribe to the "MK union" theory.
My main point was that, if there were (is) an MK spokesman; it's not that guy.
BMs and MKs shouldn't be fighting anyway. If we're busy bickering nothing will get done.

WTF thats when i Hate MKs and BMAers.

G_REG. The new BMAers just see the different leadership styles. They just get a case of the grass is greener. MK's aren't in the spotlight as much as the BM's but the work and the a$$ chewings must get done. I have known some to come over to the dark side. Some like it and some don't. I think they should be Nonrates at a unit before going to A school. Then they could choose from experience. L.B.

Take it easy MK1. I see I came off as though I ment ALL MK's but that couldn't be further than the truth. I'ts that many that I have known felt like they were more mechanics than they were coasties.

Obviously this doesn't speak for ALL MK's. Hell, I think I am the BM I am today because of the MK's that I have worked with in the past. When I was trying to be a BM as an SA the other BMs wouldn't give me the time of day, it was an MK3 that taught me how to plot, comms, seamanship etc.

So excuse me if I came off in that matter. It was not my intent. (To be honest with you I think I get along better with MK's than BM's to this day because of that one MK3).

........oh and MK's sign their name with crayons, so there. Wink

This is true, and why I tell my BM3 to send up PR's to be approved by the XPO (BMC).
