I have been charged with bringing my unit up to date with Boat Forces Operational Insignia, both temp and perm. I have been told by my command that there is a specific 3307 that should accompany this being awarded. I have looked at the appropriate chapter of BOAT 1 with no joy. Same with the 3PM, Medals and Awards, and from what I could find Boat Forces Website. Is there anywhere I might be able to find the example? Thanks.

No need to over complicate the process. This is the text I use on my CG-3307...

In accordance with the Coast Guard BOAT Manual, Volume-I, you have meet all requirements and are hereby authorized to wear the Gold- and Pewter-Tone Coast Guard Boat Forces Operations Insignia.

or..

In accordance with the Coast Guard BOAT Manual, Volume-I, you have meet all requirements and are hereby authorized to wear the Pewter-Tone Coast Guard Boat Forces Operations Insignia while assigned to a Boat forces Unit.

You might also want to cite Commandant Instruction 1650.3, Boat Force Operations Insignia Criteria.

Has anyone made mention of being District SAR Controller? I know that it has about Group Operations, but nothing about District. Just curious if anyone has heard.

I know that was discussed back when the insignia first came out. The general tone was that the Group Level had a very direct and daily interaction with the Boat Forces, while the District Level did not have near as much.
