Good Day to all,
We are in the process of putting together a Surfman History for Station Yaquina Bay with all surfmen that have served here and the years of Service. I have a pretty good list going on now but need to close the loop. If you know of a Surfman that was stationed here whether they got qualed here or came qualed.
Please sound off and let me know if you have names and dates.

Thanks

The summer of 1996 is when Depoe Bay became a subordinate unit to Yaquina Bay.
My first your was Depoe Bay from 12/92 - 5/96. Some of your questionable name are from that time period. My second tour was Yaquina Bay/Depoe Bay (sm) from 9/99 - 5/02. Feel free to contact me thru global if you want some more details.

Another name is Steve Norquist, he was at Depoe Bay from 1997-2003(I believe). Also Ramsey, I forgot his first name, was there at about the same time.

And Morey's first name is Jim. He was my XPO in Juneau and he was an outstanding role model!

Keep the list going!

I believe Dan Shipman and Dave Edwards were at Depoe Bay prior to it being part of Yaquina Bay. Dave

Thank you for the great response so far. I am making the changes to the first post as I get them in. I will keep that as the master list for now.
OBXNCBM: Thanks for the heads up, I have a buddy up there at QR and I will give him a call to get some dates from MC.
DDUREN: MC, I will try to get in contact with those still here in Newport. I know MC Garrison and MC Mcadams. I will pay them a visit and see if they can help me out with. Thanks for your help.
JOG52: Miss ya man. I will be in your neck of the woods in a couple months. Hope to meet up with you guys. Keep er chewing... Big Grin

Sardawg47,
You may find some names on the Surfman register as well. Can't say that I have spent a lot of time on the Yaquina Bar, but I can say that I have been slapped by her once or twice. Look forward to seeing the finished product.

Ben,
I believe Jim Morey's son, Walter Morey, is stationed up at Cape D. I am sure Jim could give you some more names.

It will be nice to see you and your family. I hope you guys have a safe trip to this side.

Mr. Sparkman,
I have printed out the Surfman Registry and got a handful of names. Thats what got us started. I know that there are still a bunch that served here but didn't generate their qual here. I have full intentions of posting pics when we get it complete and hung.
Thank you for your help.

Ben,

Ron Garrison is down here in Galveston with me. I will check with him to see if he remembers any old schoolers.

If that is the same Ron Garrison that was at Station Alexandria, tell him I said "HI"....

Also, if you bump into another old retired guy named Wayne Clukey, tell him to drop me an e-mail....

Thanks....
Wray...
