Sally a ship is an old school method to get a grounded ship afloat. Supposedly the crew would line up along one side and then run from port to starboard and back and forth until the vessel began to roll and could be pulled free.

("Neap" tides being the smallest change in a tidal cycle, occuring when the moon and sun are at 90 degree angles at the tidal maximums so that their pulls on the oceans counteract each other)

Answer: 2.48 pounds Solution: 1/4 cup gasoline = one 1" X 8" stick of dynamite. 4 cups = 1/2 pint. one 1" X 8" stick of dynamite weighs 0.62 pounds. 0.62 X 4 = 2.48

It serves as a fence to interrupt the passage of water coming in at the hawse-holes.
