If anyone has any input on BM1 surman positions that will be shopped for transfer for 2009 post em please. I know the shopping list won't be out untill the end of Sep 2008 but a jump start would be great. I know that here at Chetco we will have two possibly three BM1 surf jobs open.
Thanks everyone!

I am currently in the program now. I would be glad to pass on all the info I have received, and the great career guidance several Surfman gave me prior to entering the program. I am on Global hit me up.

The "Surfman" qualification was added in the major 1983 revision of the boat crew qualification program. It almost seems as though, with this transfer policy, the CG has now fallen back to the 1920-1939 "Lifesaving Branch", and reinstituted the BM(L) concept. Those that enlisted in that branch during that timeframe stayed pretty much at the lifeboat stations/lighthouses.

History tending to repeat itself ??

May/June 1983 issue has a small item about the implementation.

One of the most interesting harbor entrances I have ever seen in Depoe.
