At my current unit the SK's is making everyone return their Parka w/ the fleece. My question is: Do we have to return the fleece since it actually touched our skin? Wouldn't it fall under the same category as the thermals you were under your MSD 900 or Kokotat? If anyone can send me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. v/r, BM2
I think the first qquestion is, why is it touching your skin? If you wear the parka ACCORDING TO REGS, then the fleece, IF WORN, should still be outside two layers of clothing (minimum); the undershirt and ODU blouse. In this case, the only skin being touched is the wrist cuffs and the neck.
However, if you've been wearing it out of regs, and in such a way that it has been touching your skin, no you should not return it. But you are then responsible for the replacement cost. Consider, it should touch as much skin as the MSD 900 - but if you saw a BM3 jump into his MSD stark naked, and claim "Oh, my skin touched it, it's mine now!" he'd be repsonsible for the replacement cost.
