Anybody have any instructions for the above? I'm looking to splice 12 strand plaited to 1/2" stainless chain. I've found instructions for 8 strand, but it won't work. Thanks.

Will check one of my rigging books when I get in tonight. I think one of the books had the procedure, may be for 8 plait, but will check.

Had the book in the back of the truck. The Splicing Handbook, Barbara Merry. looks like nothing for the 12 plait, but just like the 8 plait, instead of four pairs, you have six pairs, and just repeat every third link. I'd probably run 'er out another two tucks, the split and burn the pairs to lock them, then serve the whole thing with marline or small stuff.

Boats....go to the local library and check out some books on rigging and knot work,I dont know the names off hand ,I am currently deployed and have no access to them...I hope that helps.
