Seeing that the helmet issue finally got resolved I thought I would take a stab at the following:
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT SAFETY ADVISORY (PPE-003-07); PFD REQUIRED WITH INDUSTRIAL DRY SUIT
Has heard if the "ongoing testing" and is there plans to update the current policy? I for one am skeptical and since I am forced to wear the 901 for ice operations I am curious. I still dislike the fact that I have to get into an enclosed cabin LCVP with a drysuit, PFD and pyro vest...I hope I never have to egress with all that on because it would be impossible...
Last time I had a Mustang rep stop by the Station I asked him about this. He said that, for whatever their reasoning, Mustang was not going to certify the buoyancy of the 901. That is why we have to put the PFD on top of it.
