Stephen King and Terry Pratchett are two favourites of mine. Reading the last book in the Dark Tower series of Kings - been a damn good series of books. Terry Pratchett's Discworld comedy/fantasy books are also very good.

For non-fiction/history, try A DISTANT MIRROR--THE CALAMITOUS 14TH CENTURY by Barbara W. Tuchman or THE BLACK DEATH--NATURAL AND HUMAN DISASTER IN MEDIEVAL EUROPE by Robert S Gottfried. Both of them will remind you to appreciate indoor plumbing, if nothing elseSmile

American Gods is one of my favorites of all time. You can't go wrong with Neil Gaiman.

A really good new book on the market is "Coup" by J. Fordham Stanfield. As I understand it, the author wrote the book pre 911, but the book was updated for post 911. The interesting thing is it accurately describes what would need to happen for a coup to occur in the USA.

I highly recommend it.

If you like science fiction then this is the book for you. 'Princess of the Empire' is about Special forces, hot aliens, hand to hand combat, war in space, and she's a sexy weird werewolf to boot. The tactics and weapons are dead right since the author is retired Special Forces. He will pay half the shipping to deployed soldiers. It's a $15 book but only $12 from the author and only $14 shipped. You can read reviews and buy at xxxx. Check out the book blog at, Edited URL Violation of TOS#6

I'm currently reading a book called: "Theodore Roosevelt's Darkest Journey, The River of Doubt by Candice Millard

For a historical book it reads really well and keeps the reader involved in the story.
