Three Great Books on C-Span2
Authors Jack Hurst and Marc Leepson are both Vietnam vets. Jack served in the 101st and Marc served with me in 527rh PSC. Great books, great history great and great panel discussion: BOOK TV on C-SPAN2 2008 Virginia Festival of the Book - Civil War Battles Panel Upcoming Schedule Saturday, April 19, at 12:00 PM Sunday, April 20, at 2:00 AM About the Program: From the 2008 Virginia Festival of the Book, in Charlottesville, Virginia, a panel discussion on Civil War battles featuring Jack Hurst, "Men of Fire: Grant, Forrest, and the Campaign that Decided the Civil War," John Baldwin, "Last Flag Down: The Epic Journey of the Last Confederate Warship" and Marc Leepson, "Desperate Engagement: How A Little-Known Civil War Battle Saved Washington, D.C., and Changed American History." This event took place at the University of Virginia bookstore. =============== Last Flag Down John Baldwin John Baldwin is the author of two novels, he co-wrote "Last Flag Down" with Ron Powers. -------------------------- Men of Fire Jack Hurst Jack Hurst is the author of "Nathan Bedford Forrest: A Biography." Mr. Hurst was formerly a journalist who wrote for several publications, including the Philadelphia Inquirer and Chicago Tribune. ------------------------- Desperate Engagement Marc Leepson Marc Leepson is the author of numerous books, including "Flag: An American Biography" and "Saving Monticello." Mr. Leepson was formerly a staff writer for Congressional Quarterly and has written for several publications, including The New York Times, Military History, and The Washington Post. -------------------------- An added note concerning Marc Leepson’s books, yes Marc is a good friend and a Vietnam war buddy, but he is also and excellent author. I have read both books and enjoyed them very much. My nine year old grandson wroth a book report on "Flag: An American Biography" – he had been assigned to write a biography on a famous American. He got a “B+” on the report. The teacher said she had never heard of a biography on anything but, a person. This message has been edited. Last edited by: OldArmyWOPA, |
