I stumbled across a book titled "The Battle of Monterey Pass" by John A. Miller recently and I have to say that it is an excellent read. The book is about the battle of Monterey Pass, outside of Gettysburg, Pa, and discusses the retreat from Gettysburg. Upon further research I found out that Mr. Miller is the founder of the Monterey Pass Battlefield Association and all of the proceeds from the book go to funding an interpretive marker for the battle, an admirable cause! According to the website Mr. Miller has researched this area for over 10 years and leads guided tours of the area. I have been on one of his tours and let me say, it is definately time well spent.
