Sept 28-30 2007 will be the battle of Mill Springs, KY. Which was fought in fall 1862.
Looks like the numbers that will be on the field will equal to those of the actual battle.

Well the 145th anniversary of the "High water mark" or "low water mark" who ever you ask will be July 4,5,6 2008. They estimate 12-15,000 men under arms with 100 ordnance pieces already registered, Cav (mule theives) unkn will be taking to the fields of Gettysburg. I'll be there on that hill.

In '98 there were so long marches at Gettysburg to the battle site of the re-enactment. Quite warm too.
They advised people six to eight months before the event to exercise and practice marching with full equipment to get used to the strain.
Also, make sure, if its warm, carry TWO canteens instead of one.
The highlight that year was the formation of Pickett's Division and the march of it past the camps. There were few dry eyes.

I'll be with 1 canteen on me and 2 in my knapsack and also a hip flask with water. I'm not going down from the heat if I can help it.
During the 125th my unit had 6 guys hauled to hospital from heat exhaustion and heat stroke and another 4 with heat cramps which we cared for at camp.

Good man! That first day in '98, I too had two canteens slung over shoulder and a spare bottle in my haversack. Carried a '59 Sharps carbine and .36 Navy on my belt. Was a second lieutenant and platoon commander.
