Unit Name: 15th US Regulars, 1st Battalion, Company B
Organization type: Company Location/Geography: Northwest Georgia Impressions: US Regulars/Western Federals Point of Contact: Captain M.Shane Pinson(Living Historian) (cell: 678-602-2772/Email: shanepinson72@hotmail.com) Website Link: None Yet It is the philosophy and intention of the 15th US Regulars to accurately and respectfully portray the common US Regular infantry soldier from the western theater with particular attention given to the events within Georgia in 1863-1864. Further, this organization exists to expedite growth in the study of the Civil War by continually educating the unit's members as well as the general public. We are first and foremost a group of comrades who share a love of history. Authentic experiences are the primary goal, not stitch counting. We have found however, that authentic gear and proper attitudes are vital for obtaining a more authentic experience. For weekends at a time we try to live as closely as we can (including military discipline, gear, rations, marches, sleeping accommodations, etc) to how they did. |
