I got over the hurt foot thing well enough to start up some in the gym again. I started two days ago hitting up crossfit.com for my workouts. My question is how much is crossfit implemented into Indoc (SERE)? I heard they are using some of it now. I started this and i am getting my A$$ handed to me to the point of not even being able to complete the Workout of the Day as RX. Hope i can get to being able to do this proficiently before i leave in August!

Not sure what they're doing at Indoc. But once you get up to Fairchild you will be getting very familiar with Crossfit, Kettlebells, and tires. Enjoy.

Going to do a shameless plug here.

I did CF for about 4 or 5 months and you're right, it is good stuff and worthy of the reputation it has. However, there was just something missing. When I was directed to FatalFitness.com I knew I found a place for me. It was started by a USAF TACP JTAC named Dan Donche.
Again, CF is good stuff, but if you're looking for something with a tighter, military minded community, check out fatalfitness.com. There are differences.

Here's their FAQ and an athlepedia entry on Fatal Fitness.

I agree 100% with Anthony. Fatal-fitness is a unique and effective way to get in shape. The workouts are intense, much like crossfit, and it does seem like they are really centered around "military strength", meaning great core strength while still maxing out your PT tests.

I checked out Fatal Fitness and i think i am going to stick with the WOD from Crossfit, and hit up Fatal Fitness for my core workouts. I am making good gains so far. I am putting on weight already and getting better at the workouts. Only week one and already seeing improvements. My new question is should i be adding SLD runs into the scenario? Since the whole Metcon Theory is implimented into Crossfit and Fatal Fitness. Is this enough cardio to keep my run times down or not? I could hammer out a six mile run pretty easy before i started Crossfit and i dont want to over do it.

Just checkin in to see how your training is going.
Was reading your post and noticed I missed a question, I apologize for that.
Is there enough Cardio? Plenty. Many running, pool and body weightDCs (the Fatal Fitness work outs are called Death Certificates, or DCs) not to mention you're going to have an array of workouts to tuck into your arsenal.

Next time you go to Fatal Fitness, look up and click Calandar at the top. You'll see our structure is laid out with what sort of work out is planned for that day and future days (the the exact DC is a surprise). Also, what you'll see is additional training to do for those of us heading off to bigger and better things, or just want to step it up and be more elite in our own right. It may tell you to run, bike, swim, or even ruck.

Not to mention if you ask real nicely, I'm sure Reaper will even build you your own Elite Training Guide for SERE school. He has one up for Army Ranger School and TACP Schoolhouse. He sells the 8 week plans for $15 each.

Ok, I'll stop with my infomercial, but seriously Fatal Fitness is all you'll ever need to get in the best mental and physical shape of your lif.e Ok, NOW I'll stop the infomercial. :P

One thing I've noticed is that a) if you want to increase your run times, do high intensity interval training. They'll go down I swear. And b) you only really need to run 3 miles to get a good effect. If you can run 3 miles at a decent pace, you can run 10 miles at a slower pace (formation runs). You don't need LSDs that bad. Shoot for something like 3 miles in 18 mins and you'll be able to keep up on any distance run.
Thanks for the words on Fatal Fitness, Anthony. You rock.
