I'm coming up on my re-enlistment window and am trying to figure out what to re-enlist into. I'm looking at Aerial Gunner or Imagery Analysis. Quite a bit of difference between the two but I think I'd like either one. I'm currently in weather and would have stayed in (although i really don't like the career field, maybe civilian but not military side) but the SRB is going away completely and would also like to find something to re-train into that has a decent bonus. I looked at about.com but their information is outdated (2005?). I'm mainly looking for info from people in the job.. maybe what their experience has been, likes/dislikes. Deployment cycle (6mo out/1 yr back?), general work hours/daily routine, TDY's? Any info from those who do the job would be great, thanks! Also, if anyone's got questions for a weather guy just ask..
Make sure you are eligible for the SRB of the career field you are retraining into. Lots of folks retrain into a career field thinking they will get that bonus and end up not getting it due to training to late etc.
