Hello all. I am an active duty soldier with Tricare Prime. My unit is not helping me at all and I'm geographically separated from them right now and can't just pop in to harass for an answer.
Anyway, I'm at a 12 day OUTPATIENT speech therapy course in Virginia, about 220 miles from my MTF, Walter Reed. The course is being covered by Tricare. I am currently on terminal leave. I'm trying to figure out if the my travel and lodging should be covered, since this was a referral over 100 miles away from my PCM. If I wasn't active duty, Tricare would pay. The POC I was given has been blowing me off and I don't know the facts to know if it's worth pursuing. Thank you for your help! |

From the Tricare website:
"If you have to travel a great distance for your medical care, your unit will coordinate your travel and reimbursement. Contact your unit for more information. Note: You do not qualify for the same travel reimbursement as your family members." http://www.tricare.mil/mybenef...FTravelReimbursement Bottom line: your unit should have put you on TDY orders. |
