I just got off the horn with McElmer aka Elmer C. McElreath aka "mac" and his health is not well. Hence, he hasn't been able to post anything for quite some time. I won't get onto details, but I promised him that I would post a new Topic here on his behalf. So anyone out there who reads this, please Pray for Him, he sure could use them. Thanks ALL!

When I had spoken to Elmer the other evening, he had asked me how to get to THIS Forum through the Mil.com website. I told him what to do and he had written it down and I hope he is well enough to locate this thread and read it. In his own words, "I'm not doing to well."

I am very sorry to hear your friend is ill. I will keep him in my prayers and he is now on an email prayer list. I am also getting his name added to a couple of other prayer lists online ASAP.

I have read some of his posts on here and he seems like avery sweet man. He probably doesn't want to hear that but oh well. Wink I know how you mil. guys put on that tough act. lol

Anyhow if you can email him this link he can get directly to your thread here.

Please tell him I wish him all the best and hope he gets well soon and comes back to post here. I enjoy reading his posts.

You have mail at mil.com. Please read it. It is in two parts due to length. I have not heard from Alyssa. I hope she contacts me while in Ft Hood. I do want to meet her in person while she is close to me. Well 5 hours away but better than Washington state. lol Due to my health I can't make the trip on my own now but I have someone willing to make the trip with me. The info on that person is in the email I sent to you. He is a veteran. He is disabled too but he can drive and that is a big help to me. That and just having someone to make the trip with me. Please ask Alyssa to email me at g-mail. Thank you.

FREEDOM IS NOT FREE!! HAVE YOU THANKED A VETERAN TODAY??? Smile

Elmer is NOT only MY friend, is a friend of EVERY regular poster here. Thank You for your Prayers for him.

McElmer is already aware how to get to this Forum.

Since I changed my ISP two years ago, my Mil.com addy has remained the same as it was when I first 'enlisted' on Mil.com in 2001. Therefore, if you click on My Profile and attempt to send me a message, I will NOT receive ANY messages anyone sends me. It will be received by someone else with my OLD addy OR it's just in cyberspace.

Furthermore, I am NOT an "errand boy" and will not ask anyone to e-mail you or perform that task for anyone else either, for that matter.

Moreover, I'm not on this machine all day, thus I didn't see you first post.

You're very Welcome.

By ISP (internet service provider) are you referring to your email address? Your internet service provider has nothing to do with your mil.com email. It is your email address that the mail gets forwarded to and that can be different than your ISP email. For instance you can have AOL as your ISP but use an email address from yahoo or hotmail to get your mails from mil.com. I know because my internet service provider is not the same as my email address I have at mil.com for my emails, notifications and subscriptions. All you need to do is update your email address on your account page on mil.com You may or may not know this. I'm just passing you this info in case you might need it.....

Whoa! I just read all of your post. For some reason I only got some of it sent to me in email and I hit reply from there. It wasn't until mine posted that I was able to see all of yours to me. The only part I saw was the part about your ISP.

Alyssa can read the post and email me if she wants to. She is the one who asked if my offer was still open to meet while she is training at Ft Hood. It is.

As for the email....if it is lost in cyber space that's where it needs to stay. BTW I had discerned as much that Elmer was well liked and respected here. As much time as I have spent here reading through posts, old and new I have a pretty good knowledge of who is who and what is what.

What one can learn from simple observation and paying attention to your surroundings is incredible at times. That works in a very similar way here. There is enough info on all these pages to learn a lot about those who post here. Some more in depth than others but more than enough to know who is friends with who and who the regulars are and a lot about their personalities, wants, needs, desires, beliefs and goals.

I'm sure you know this though. Just thought I would mention this to you here so that you would be aware that I do as well.

He is in my prayers as would anyone be under the same circumstances, whether I know them or not and I do not want or need any thanks for praying for someone to recover from illness. I do hope he does and that he comes back to post once again too. I enjoy reading his comments.

Update: OK I have changed mine a couple of times since becoming a member of mil.com. I know nothing beyond that.

To simplify this as much as possible, when I changed my ISP, my e-mail addy changed. I had made many attempts to change my NEW addy in my Mil.com account with negative results. So I say again, I DO NOT receive ANY e-mails sent through MY PROFILE via my Mil.com address, unless of course, you know what THAT address is.

I wish NOT to turn THIS thread into a 4-1-1 thread, so I ask that this thread CONTINUE on it's ORIGINAL Topic.

And so it shall be. Wink

You are in our prayers, Mac. May the Lord hold you in the palm of his hand, and may angels watch over you.
