Keep writing & e-mailing your Congessman, Senators, & the White House demanding full concurrent receipt. If the Center for Disease Control can spend $125,000,0000 on a PR program just to urge kids to play outdoors, the govt can come up with the bucks for CR.

Keep those cards, letters, & e-mails going.

THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE AND I HOPE YOU ENJOY A LONG AND HEALTHY RETIREMENT. IF YOU HAVE A SAMPLE LETTER, SHOOT IT TO ME. I MADE MY LIVING KICKING UP DUST, SO I WILL TRY TO DO IT AGAIN ON CR.

For there to be even a $1 offset of VA compensation and retirement pay is theft. It took 36 years to get this bill past the House and Senate. Then the Bill goes into the Department Of Defense wherein an extremely overpaid slickster says no! Before the election the President alluded to favoring Concurrent Receipt. Now he forgets not only veterans healthcare promises; but justice and fairness with retirees.
I am not a retiree. I only served one hitch on active duty and some inactive reserve time; but I know what the career people sacrificed.

I served 20 years and when I retired I was promised health care and dental for the rest of my life. I am a Vietnam veteran and when was disabled when I retired. I don't think it is fair that we should have to pay for our own disability from our retirement check. I do get health care from the VA but I should be able to go to a military hospital if I choose and I can't.

I will do my voting to eradicate those congressmen who do not support the military veterans as promised. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE JOIN THE ARMED FORCES TODAY BECAUSE THE PROMISES ARE NOT KEPT .

WHO WOULD YOU ASK TO DEFEND THE COUNTRY? I SHARE YOUR FRUSTRATIONS. I THANK YOU FOR YOUR PAST YEARS OF SERVICE, BUT I WOULD NOT AGREE WITH YOUR POSITION REGARDING THE FUTURE SERVICE BY OTHERS.

I AM A RETIRED SEABEE AND ALSO A DISABLED AMERICAN VETERAN. MY WIFE HAS SENT NUMEROUS LETTERS TO ALL ON THE VETERANS AFFAIRS COMMITTEES AND MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE AND SENATE. WHAT DO THEY DO? THEY JUST PASS THEM OFF TO ONE ANOTHER. WE DID GET ACTION WHEN SHE STARTED WRITING LETTERS CONCERNING MY APPEAL TO THE VA FOR DISABILITY AND I DID GET 100%, HOMEBOUND. BUT I SHOULD NOT HAVE HAD TO FIGHT SO LONG AND SO HARD TO OBTAIN IT. I RETIRED IN 1984 WITH SOME DISABILITY BUT DIABETES FINALLY TOOK ITS TOLL ON MY BODY. LUCKILY AGENT ORANGE WAS ATTRIBUTED TO CAUSING TYPE II DIABETES JUST BEFORE I REFILED. I GO TO A VA CLINIC ABOUT 45 MINUTES FROM MY HOME WHEN THEY HAVE A DR. THEY CANNOT KEEP ONE ON STAFF. I ALSO GO TO THE VA HOSPITAL IN ALEXANDRIA, LA TO BE TREATED FOR MY DIABETIC RETINOPATHY. I ALSO HAVE TO GO TO THE VA IN HOUSTON FOR MY KIDNEYS AS THE DIABETES HAS TAKEN A TOLL ON THEM. I WAS TOLD IN 1975 THAT I ONLY HAD ONE KIDNEY. THIS WAS DISCOVERED IN SURGERY AFTER AN ACCIDENT I HAD WHILE ON ACTIVE DUTY. THERE WERE EXTENSIVE TESTS DONE TO BE SURE OF THIS CONDITION AND FOR THE PAST 27 YEARS EVERY DR. I HAVE SEEN I HAVE INFORMED THEM OF THE FACT THAT I ONLY HAVE ONE KIDNEY. IN SEPT 2002 I HAD TO HAVE A TRIPLE BY PASS. I HAD THIS DONE AT A PRIVATE HOSPITAL. A KIDNEY SPECIALIST WAS CALLED IN BECAUSE MY KIDNEY WAS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY AFTER THE CATHERIZATION WAS PERFORMED. THEY DID A SONOGRAM AND WHAT DID THEY FIND, THE 2ND KIDNEY AND BOTH KIDNEYS ARE FUNCTIONING AT 80%. WHEN I WAS SENT TO THE VA IN HOUSTON FOR THEM TO CHECK MY KIDNEY IN 2001 THEY NEVER PERFORMED ANY KIND OF TESTS, EXCEPT LAB, TO DETERMINE THE CONDITION OF MY KIDNEY. VETERANS NEED BETTER HEALTH CARE.

CONCURRENT RECEIPT: I GAVE 21 YEARS OF MY LIFE TO THE MILITARY, WITH 3 DEPLOYMENTS TO VIET NAM. MY HEALTH IS ATTRIBUTED TO AGENT ORANGE. WE VETERANS ARE ONLY ASKING WHAT IS DUE US. OUR BENEFITS AND OUR RETIREMENT. MY WIFE SERVED 3 YEARS IN THE NAVY, AND NOW BOTH MY CHILDREN ARE IN THE NAVY AND BOTH COULD BE SENT IN HARMS WAY AT ANY TIME. I WORRY FOR THEM, THEIR MAY NOT BE ANY BENEFITS FOR THEM WHEN THEY ARE DISCHARGED. Mad

Thanks for twenty plus years of service to this nation!
So many times the veteran is fooled by politicians who never wore the uniform.
The government who is controlled by Executive, Legislative and Judicial Branches make sure their incomes are far above the majority they represent. Their healthcare is far superior to those who they represent and never flinch on sending those they represent into harms way.
The politicians dening retirees their own money are stealing from true hero's.
Not a retiree; but a supporter of retirees.

I'm SICK of some vets whining like welfare mothers. My great great grandfather fought in the Civil War. My grandfather fought in WWI. My father and uncles fought in WWII. I joined the Navy and served during the Cold War. NONE of us served for "bennies" or "promises." If whining vets couldn't serve without expecting something in return, THEY SHOULD HAVE STAYED HOME.

As it was previously mentioned, if that were the case who would have defended our Country? Then you have the "draftees" to consider who did not volunteer. Furthermore, ALL who volunteered did so out of Patriotism and all they want is what the Government is due them. Take for example, the National Guard or the Reserves. MOST individuals joins those respective Units for the money and training, nothing more. When 'called up', THEY become the whiners saying," I didn't know I had to go and fight."

In the civilian world, you have Social Security. When a person who has contributed into that System for many years they want to collect their money upon retirement. Did you know that after 7-10 years, they have collected MORE than they contributed? Yet, they demand more, so as I said, the Veteran's deserve every cent due them from OUR Goverment.

WHEN THE CAMPAIGNING STARTS, I AM GOING TO MAKE A CONCERTED EFFORT TO ATTEND SOME SPEECHES AND RALLIES WITH THE SOLE PURPOSE BEING TO ASK THIS QUESTION: WHAT IS YOUR POSITION ON CR? AFTER IT BECOMES A STANDARD QUESTION, THESE SERVANTS OF THE "VETERAN COMMUNITY" WILL HAVE TO PREPARE FOR THE QUESTION AND DECIDE ON A CONSISTENT ANSWER.

WHEN I CAN, I WILL E-MAIL THE SAME QUESTION TO ANY AND ALL SITES THAT ASK FOR QUESTIONS AND/OR COMMENTS. WILL YOU GUYS AND GALS JOIN ME IN THIS IMPORTANT WORK? IF YOU BECOME MY COALITION OF THE WILLING, WE CAN MAKE AN IMPACT ON THIS ELECTION AND INSURE THAT CR BECOMES A MAJOR ISSUE IN 2004.

OK...LEAD, FOLLOW, OR GET THE H OUT OF MY WAY...

So Major, do you want me to break out my "gear?"
It's still it very good condition, albeit most of it is Vietnam era. I still have my jungle new uniforms, web (782) gear, camo paint, bug juice, helmet and jungle hats, OD & camo and camo paint paint. Plus, an NVA canteen with carrying strap, MPC and SV piasters, although they are probably worthless, monetarely.
