I've been on the boards for a month or so now. Been in for 19 years this November. Started out in 10th Mountain Division(A CO 3/14 IN) 1985-1988. Was in 1-136 IN, 1-194 IN and 1-194 AR (All MN ARNG Units) from 1988-2000. Back on Active Duty as an Active Guard/Reserve (AGR) from 2000 to present. I found the form looking for information on COL Hackworth and enjoy the threads.

When my children watch an ad on tv put out by moveon.org and the democrats and ask ,
" Daddy is that what you did in the war, dropped to your knees with your gun and hands over your head?
What can a soldier that has just come back from Iraq say to them?
My first thought was to grab my gun and find Kerry, but that was put aside quickly, I called friends and family and those I know who have family still in Iraq, and told them about this shameful ad, they had already seen it on fox news, and some guy named Chad from the Kerry campaign praising the ad and saying that having to spend money to purchase needed equiptment for soldiers in Iraq, well is just wrong and needed elsewhere.

Funds my ***, they are showing the military as if there are cowards and kneeling down in the desert as if they are surrendering and afriaid.
The demorcats have Stooped to the Lowest of lows.

newbie here too. alpha dog gave me the heads up about it. i never had much of an interest for chatrooms, message boards or instant messages till i met my fiancee online. still don't care for chatrooms.......instant messaging is way cool......voice is great! message boards can be very educational and interesting. i'm not one to post much on them though. unless something really gets to me. then i let it rip! lol i try to be nice about it though.

life experience has taught me to not discuss politics anywhere. however; i was in IM with my fiancee and she told me about this ad. it made me sick. she was very aggitated over it and it took me awhile to calm her down. she also has a child age 11, who i interact with quite frequently online. that little girl knows in a very general way where i am and what i'm here for. i can understand her mother being upset over seeing that ad and needless to say, i was none too happy myself!

I really don't see any reason to avoid having a draft.What ever happened to:"My Country needs me, so I'll go"? I left for the Air Force one month after graduating from High school in 1962 and being drafted never entered my mind. I ended up in SAC's 42nd Bomb Wing and loved every minute of it even though TDY's took me to some places where you never get a chance to get constipated, if you know what I mean!!! Now at age 60, I wish they needed me again.
