WELCOME TO THE FORUM...LISTEN UP :-)

PLEASE NOTE THAT A THREAD WAS STARTED ON THE SUBJECT OF HACK'S LATEST COLUMN AT 0745 THIS MORNING...AND SINCE THAT TIME WE HAVE THREE NEW THREADS ON THE SAME SUBJECT.

PLEASE JUST "REPLY" TO A THREAD INSTEAD OF STARTING A "NEW TOPIC" ON THE SAME SUBJECT.

A good idea is for the newbies, as well as us oldies, to post on topics already established if the subject is ongoing. RONCO is correct in the thesis of this topic thread. Three new topics on the same issue is senseless.

I will cast no stones!

I'm a Newbie at this forum. I read and post mainly at Point/Counter Point.
I start very few threads, and read a lot more than posting. I will for sure follow your established rules.
I'm a Newbie here, can I post a ONE choice poll? Confused Big Grin

RONCO, I also come to this forum with a question? Confused
--------------------------------------------------

Today I picked up the book: SIX SILENT MEN 101st LRP/Rangers Book One by: Reynel Martinez

This is a quote from page one of this book:

Cam-ranh Bay: "They arrived trained and honed to a fine-tempered edge , thanks to the efforts of a legendary warrior, Maj. David Hackworth, the brigade operations officer. The 1st Brigade had the finest NCO's and privates that ever laced up a pair of jump boots."

They were trained by: Maj. David Hackworth but in Cam-ranh Bay were under the command of: Col. James
S. Timothy.

Is this the one and same Colonel Hackworth that has this column and forum? Confused

Welcome. On posts, we sometimes use a rifle, and sometimes a shotgun. We try to discuss, not inflict wounds.

Thanks for the welcome... I do more reading at these boards than posting. When something gets my attention, I'll jump right in. Not afraid of the water! Big Grin " IF YOU CAN"T SWIM, DON"T FALL OUT OF THE BOAT" Excellent advise: mac

Being a Navy Squid of 27 years sometimes I get to feeling a bit "land-locked" here in Southern Oregon. The beautiful Oregon Coast is only a two
hour drive, however.

Enjoy your day... -Jim in Southern Oregon Big Grin Cool

Navy Airdale 61-65. Never was on a boat. Training squadron VA-43 and Patrol squadron 21, out of Brunswick, Me. Hear it's great out there in Oregon. How do you get to the coast, over all the tree huggers? I would like to visit that area that is untouched by man. Seen some pictures, and it looks, fantastic. Mom nature, did herself proud, in places all over. Just have to look. mac

That worked more times than not. Sitting in the ville with Ba Moui Ba and a bowl of french fried frogs legs talkin' to Charlie smoothed alot more out than using a rock chunker every time.
