When we citizens do something against the law we are punished, either fine or jail. Yet those who come into this country illegally, take for free (used be be called stealing when I was a kid) our benefits and the politicians want them to be given more consideration than we are given. I guess it is more important for the illegals to get the jobs, than those who wore the uniform of this nation.

I note the headline says "immigration debate".......last night evenging news ABC same thing.

This is about Illegal (repete NOT LEGAL) immigration. The left once again wants to slant the issue/debate. Words mean things! Tell a lie enough.........

The article highlighted several of the areas and issues where our elected officals are complacent; comprimise' , 'economy', for those in the GOP. Meanwhile, the best the Dems can come up with is of all people, hilary,coming up with reference to the Bible! (?).

Of all these elected and some what educated, our representatives cannot simply address the issue. Illegal is not legal, send'em home. If they're repeat offenders, (and how in the world are ya gonna know) establish a penal colony. Options for locations are plentiful, golf courses, resorts, private gated communties after all they are familiar with them, most have worked on them.

Yet, the problem goes much deeper than our representatives failing to throw their partisan differences competely aside. My experience existed with my CEO, wanting me to coordinate with the counsulate's office of Mexico, and the State Department on a program that brought workers to NE & KS. That was my final action and went to work for another company that evantually was in the process of being outsourced and again left.

Companies throughout our Nation have been hiring Illegals for the last two decades despite the requirement of documentation. The laws, in my feeble military retired mind, are in place, yet the actual enforcement or follow through isn't! Enforcement and resulting penalty (maxium right between the eyes) would be a step forward. Most of those same companies that have been hiring illegals, require a 'Citizen' to have two forms of required identification, pass a background check, and a previous reference.

What do we do, he asks.....enforce the laws currently in effect, improve some with resulting HEAVY financal and civil pentalties to the employer. To include their further opportunity to conduct businnes and forfiet of assests. The worker, send'em back if the law is enforced evantually they are unable to work.

When he asks......TODAY!

Example.....A few weeks ago 20 illegal (NOT LEGAL) immigrants were busted working at the Grand Traverse Resort in Traverse City Michigan. Michigan is the unemployment capital of the nation and Traverse City is a seasonal employment area a long freeking way from Mexico. Yet in late winter NOT LEGAL's employed on the house keeping staff.

Washington we have a problem.

SHOULD BUSINESSES EMPLOYING ILLEGALS BECOME ILLEGAL BUSINESSES...IT LOOKS LIKE POGO HAS IT RIGHT

Many, many resorts employ immigrants, some legal some not. Many that do so are within the letter of law, and those employed are not from the south of US!

Damn straight, if the employer is in violation of the Law, they must pay if it be OSHA or DOL. So why the blind eye to hiring, employing and payment of US $$$ to Illegal's?

As I watched CNN and MSNBC last evening ( Monday ) on this topic . Each channel had on " so-called " experts on the subject of " Illegals " and " immigrants " in general .

I heard these experts comment on how much " illegals " working in this country , contribute to the social securiety fund , and the Medi-care fund through their income tax contributions .

I'm confused.....has our system failed to the point , that these " Illegals " , can go and get a social securiety number.....even though they are " illegals " and not citizens . Other wise.....how could their employers , be making deductions from these " illegals " pay checks.....and making contributions to any SS , or Medicare funds , or be paying Federal , State , local or county taxes .

There seems to be , a serious " misinterpretation " , about the terms used in conjunction with those that have entered our country as " illegal " immigrants , and are not seeking legal citizenship through the appropiate channels , or those that have entered our country as immagrants with legal " visa's " , and are going through the appropiate channels , to legally secure their citizenship status .

And those in the media , and those claiming to be so-called " experts " on the subject,....are not able to differentiate between the two terms " Illegals " and " Immigrants ".

I was amazed to see a segment , about an " Illegal " man and his entire family . Who have lived and and worked in Atlanta for the past five years . He is a business owner , he runs an " upscale " resturant in that city . Has the licencing necessary from the city to operate his business....and he nor any members of his family . Have ever taken the first step , to secure their " legal " citizenship status in those five years of residency . How do they do that.....without an SS number....how do they pay their ..... Federal , state , local and county taxes . What do they do , when they need medical care , or their children enter school . I bet you.....if you or I , had no SS number....I could not do what they are doing illegally .

I almost feel that their is a " network of Illegals " , that supply the appropiate information , on how to " beat " the system , once you establish yourself in an area of the country , as an " illegal "......!

You can thank your US Government for allowing it to continue. It could have been thwarted decades ago, but no one considered the consequences. It still brings up the issue, besides the security problem, who will replace the migrant labor, when no one else is willing to do the work? They have a great argument.
Ronco has a good point of making them legal, or make them leave.
If you think about 2001, what happens if as they say, more Middle Easterners have flooded across the southern border and not just Latinos? 4.5 years, since Sep 11th, to continue their plots. They have enough people in this country to pull off their attacks. Waiting is not an issue with them.

I have always agreed with and been concerned about , the possibility of large numbers of " Rag-heads " , infiltrating our boarders....just as the Mexicans are doing presently . Who would know .

I keep hearing these " Politico's " stating , that this is an election year . They are hesitant about passing laws , that would reform the immigration system . And I have to think , that they are concerned about losing the votes of the Mexican / American registered voters in there districts ( Congressman and Senators ) . If new immigration laws are passed . Then I have to wonder.....how many " legal " immigrants....are actually registered voters.....!
