Hello- Anyone give me some insight how the VA home loan process works? I went to the VA website and it just confused me EVEN MORE!!! National Guard solider here with just over a year of service. I would really like to apply for it if I can but need help please??

Well, you need more time before you qualify for the VA loan. VA's website will not help you a whole lot. Contact a VA approved lender and speak with a loan officer that knows VA guidelines. They will walk you through the process.

I believe I have asked you this question before but I just can't remember the answer. I would like to know if VA requires the Seller to pay your closing costs. This is what a VA loan officer told me a while back when I first applied for a VA home loan and now I am being told that is not true at all.

sellers are not required to pay closing costs with va loans.

of course, you can write that into your contract if you like, but its completely optional.

what i think you are referring to is that there are certain things you are not allowed to pay with a VA loan. im not well versed in the specifics.

I closed on a VA loan yesterday (our first home) and iirc- we paid about 3800 in closing costs.
