RE: http://tech.military.com/equipment/view/89061/mk19-40mm...d-3.html?eq_id=89061
For anyone who hasn't heard... It's not a good Idea to strap them on top of dump trucks with cargo straps. They tend to move and slam peoples hands. Personal Experience. - USMC -CPL. CHOATE, MICHAEL V. |

H&k's system is light years ahead of this heavy, but lethal dinosaur. The Hk's model goes from a 40mm grenade launcher to a .50cal blaster in less than a minute. Just change barrels and ammo. Its way lighter too. You only need 2 men to transport it, and it can be mounted on a truck, or used on a roof top, or ANYWHERE you want. It even has a laser range finder that will enable ur 40mm to explode at a certain distance. Like right inside a window..the men are being shortchanged. Hk makes the best weapons around. Check out the 416..

Can you give reference on this weapon system? The only system that is close to that is the GMG and it is a grenade launcher only. |

Its called the XM-307, and it fires a 25mm grenade. The barrels can be changed and it fires .50 cal, I saw it on Weaponology, it is lighter than the Mk-19, but not a replacement. They want to use it in the field due to its weight, or lack of it. Laser range finder, airburst etc., and no I never fired or saw one up close. |

STRYKERSOL21, there is also a YouTube video of this weapon. If you google Hk you will find it on the 4th or 5th page. Or, when you get on the google site, type in X-307. It does not have the rate of fire that the M2 has, but is low recoil, accurate, and light enough to be used by dismounted troops. Its a third of the weight of the Mk-19, and would be a nice asset to have in the field.

XM-307 is a General Dynamics product, not H&K. And the program is no longer in development - it was cancelled in 2007. Sources: Wikipedia entry, XM-307 Globalsecurity.org entry, M307 |

Yea, I'm at a WTB at Knox because my hand was crunched by one falling off a mount during dismount. 8 weeks in a cast and I glow at night from all the CT Scans and XRays.
