I got a problem with it.......ITS ****ING HUGE!!!!! I only weigh 130 pounds (115 before Basic) That thing looks like it would make me tip over, The damn thing makes the M14 look light. The M8 was a far better idea. Shame they dropped it Frown

Too heavy and possibly unreliable. The SAR-L was a real step, this is high tech nonsense.

if they expect that thing to replace the M4 Carbine then how the hell do they expect the SOF teams to raid a house or ship lugging that gigantic thing around?

How much does it weigh? That thing is alittle too big to say the least for urban warfare. I'm still wondering how the XM8 is doing through the test phase. From what I saw the weapon has accident written all over it. What happens when a Soldier pull the wrong trigger and shoots a 20mm round off it'll probably kill everyone in his squad. I see this weapon doing more damage than good considering it size and the fact it hasn't been tested among soldiers to see how it holds up.

The ROK have produced a model thats smaller and lighter. I never fired or seen it personally, but you can find it on YouTube. I don't think its a weapon for every soldier, it may be used much like the DM. Just 1 man out of the sqaud carries it. It may be junk too.

I do not think that this weapon is good in any way. I have constructed blue prints of a gun of similar design but it's not nearly as big as this. I do wish that they would have kept the M8, it is a far better weapon, Either that or the SCAR. We definitely need a lighter weapon not one that weighs a ton.... That and it is far to unreliable, with all that technological BS anything could go wrong, therefore endangering our soldiers.
