The Department of Defense announced today the death of a sailor who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Petty Officer Third Class Mark R. Cannon, 31, of Lubbock, Texas died Oct. 2 while conducting combat operations in Kunar Province, Afghanistan. Cannon was a hospital corpsman assigned to 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Base Hawaii
Thank you for posting this. Doc Cannon was my corpsman last year in iraq, when I was a squad leader in lima 3/3. He was an awesome guy. at 31 years old he was a lot older then my boys and knew a ton more than your average corpsman, as he had years of experience working in a hospital before he joined. He will definitely be missed.
