Hello fellow Marines,

I am a Cpl currently in Iraq, and here is why I am sorry.

I called MY family a couple of days ago, my mother told me that Lance Corporal Emrys John was in major trouble and I asked her what happened due to the fact I know some Marines in high places.
My mother then informed me there was nothing I could do he and some other Marines had murdered a Sgt and his wife.

I had my mother send me the news articles and I pulled them up on the computer myself, and what she had told me was true.

When I was in High School I knew LCpl John, infact I even taught him Martial Arts and Self Defense training. I taught him how to be dangerous, I instilled in his mind that he could do anything he wanted when he put his mind to it.

When I first met LCpl John he was a quiet reserved kid, he was picked on in school, I even stopped a fight he was in, he was bloodied up, he then joined my Martial Arts classes. I taught him that you can not fear the conciquences at the time of the action or it will be to late. This isn't what I intended.

I drove him to my recruiting station, he met my recruiter, signed for DEP, I even mentored the poor kid when he was having troubles.

I failed him, his family and for that now a Sgt and his Wife are dead.

My condolences to the families, I feel as if it is my fault.

SAD, instead of swallowing his own ignorance and taking it like a man, the BOY couldn't take this petty situation and cowardly resorted to this.... all in all, he will get his. him and whoever else that would do this... you know, I don't really want to bring up this subject but racist people aren't much different from the taliban and terrorist.... they have anger out of ignorance. what God would say kill if they don't want to believe?? correct me if i'm wrong but i thought it was (leave the house and dust your feet off). in the same instance God didn't say kill those of different colors than you. it was (LOVE ALL OF GODS CHILDREN). sorry people, ignorance is my BIGGEST (P.P) I get carried away at times. my prayers go out to them, EVEN THE ONES WHO DID IT. its just the right thing to do.

+1, I to hate racists. I was taught very early that all Marines are Green, just different shades.

Not your fault what this "punk" and his buddies did to this Marine Sgt and his wife. He learned all the martial arts training in the world, however he did NOT have honor - the essential ingredient. What is appaling to me more than anything else is how these "Marines and I use this term only that they were active duty" had NO honor and shot and killed another Marine. They should ROT in hell.
