It was always 155 mm for me:M114 and M109.
In training, used M101, M102 and M108. Never touched a 175 or 8".

Started in the reserves on 8" and then went to 109A5s in two different units on active duty.

Now I'm looking at going National Guard to a 105 unit. That would be an interesting change for me as I have never touched a towed piece. When I went thru AIT we were split into toweds and SPs depending on unit, and never crossed over.

M119A2 in 25th ID and 82d ABN.

M270, M270IPDS and M270A1 MLRS in 2d ID.

M198 in 82d ABN. Yes, I know, not usual. My battery manned theater provided M198s in OEF, even though we were an M119 unit.

I loved being able to cut the different kinds of shells for range and then dumping them all for effect. Put a couple of illum, some white Phospherous on Quick and then delay the HE so they'll bounce in the cloud, what a show.

During 66-67 the 1st Infantry Division organized it's 4.2s into the Light Horse Field Arty. They were deployed like Artillery

I'm a Fox so I don't play with the guns but I know my BN (1/129th F.A.) uses the 155, however I've heard they where switching us over the 777.
