Any FISTers out there deploy with an MP unit? I'm possibly going over with one in the near future and I'm kind of curious what to expect. This will be my first deployment.

I've never seen FISTers with any of the MP units attached to us. I sent one of my COLTs with the MP platoon in teh BCT a few times.

Depending on what type of operations they are doing, should be pretty much the same as operating with a D CO in an infantry battalion, or with a HMMWV CAV Troop. MP squads are bigger (MPs call a truck crew a team, and 3 teams a squad, IIRC) compared to IN call the truck crew a squad. I think CAV uses crews and sections. If they aren't going out, doing detainee stuff, than you will probably be bored.

Just got done with the SRP for the unit I will be deploying. Last I heard I was going to be reclassed to MP. I can't believe how many people where there. Today, there was around 300 people at the armory. Tomorrow though we are getting another 150 people in addition to what we had today. The Arty unit I'm in has only 60ish people in. This place was freaking crowded!!! Unfortunately I haven't found anything out about this mission other than a name. Tomorrow I've got a meeting with a Sergeant Major to get more info.

Well, no Sergeant Major this morning. I guess he had more important things to do . Not entirely surprising, I honestly expected to get blown off. Anyway, I didn't even find out until after I finished this SRP crap that I still might not be selected to go. I wont know for another 1.5-2 weeks. I want to go so bad...
