I'm going out to the field for a live fire tommorow, and I'll be bringing back some (hopefully) cool photos...just wondering if anyone else has any live fire pics. Or for you FISTers out there, have any pics of the impact area getting rained on?
These are M28 training rockets, no warheads or sub-munitions. Ballast and smokecanisters - it looks impressive because the ground right there is really wet and marshy. I havn't seen the business end of combat loaded rockets this close, so I can't compare that...
MLRS firing IMHO is best observed at night, otherwise its just whoosh whoosh woosh and lots of smoke. Unless they're using timed ADAMs, manuvering anywhere near thier impact area is deadly.
I'm spoiled of course, my heart will always belong to a battery FFE of M110's either on the firing line or out on the OP.
