So my instructer here at Ft. Sill has been telling us that there's an online simulater that can be downloaded off of AKO for fire missions. Does anyone have any idea where I can find it on there? I just spent the last hour or so looking for it and haven't been able to find it yet. Thanks for the help.
There is indeed a simulator you can get but I am not sure if/where you can download it. I know of a way you might be able to get a hold of one along with any information you might want on your new M.O.S. There is a company, goes by the name Raytheon, these guys are artillery gods. Every field tech I've meet has been a prior service FIST and worked at every level. I have several E-mails but I don't want to put them out in the open, I don't think they would appreciate that. I would like to P.M. them to you but I'm having a bit of trouble with that.
P.S. Are SFC Frank and SSG Vereen still there? They where my Fox instructors and I'm just wondering.

Yeah SFC Frank is still around. He's more of the head guy now. He's pretty much just in charge of the Platoon Sergeants. But I have no idea who SSG Vereen is though, sorry. And I would love to read some of those emails if you ever get the chance to send them to me.
If you haven't found it yet, the FO simulator (called FOPCSIM) is in the 13F section of Fire Knowledge Network (FKN). Drop a message via AKO if you can't find it.
It is a Call For Fire training tool for artillery observers from the observer point of view. While the graphics are decent, the interface and animation is not a high end video game a la HALO. The purpose is to train target location & engagement techniques and proper formating proceedures, not entertainment. Don't get me wrong, it's cool to train with and have at home if you're a FISTER, but I'm not sure non-Foxes will appreciate it quite as much...
