Does anyone here have any experience with this MOS 13R, Field Artillery Radar Op? This is my MOS and i am heading to basic in 02/10. I know what this MOS does, but i want to hear about some experiences.

54 views, 1 reply . so there is nobody on the forum in this section that is or knows someone who is 13R? Nobody can tell me what life is like on deployment, What i will most likely be doing? no 13R's here that can tell me what they did and what it was like on there deployment or in garrison?
13R is not a very large MOS, so that is probably why no one has responded to your questions...one of my Platoon sergeants who is a 13M, got attached to a radar unit while deployed and basically did a 13R job the whole time he was there, from what he said it was extremely boring, and fairly safe as far as deployments go...that's the best I can do for you

No I a not a 13R. It is an important MOS though.
I'm currently deployed to Iraq and live right next to the radar(I'm a 19D, NOT 13R). My good friend is a 13R at the Radar on our FOB and what "FreshDonutsCoffee" said is pretty much true. You sit around, wait for a round to be recorded, sit around while the radar is being repaired, sit around some more. Fill the generator, repeat.
