I just found out that my duty station after school will be Camp Casey Korea.I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the post or the unit there? What to expect in terms of morale and how leadership is?My last active duty post was Drum so it will be hard for Casey to disappoint me hehe.I'm married and I will not be bringing my family over so I'll be spending most of the time saving money so what are some things to do in my off time that won't break me off at the wallet?Thank you for any input guys.

I'm not a 13F, I'm a 13M, but I'm stationed here at Casey right now, I've been here the last 9 months. IMO it's *not* one of the nicer installations on the ROK, but you'll live, I promise. The PX and commissary are way small compared to the ones stateside. The units mostly have pretty high espirit de corps, mostly because unless you live off post you will be seeing each other 24/7, in the barracks and around post (and that's E6's and below included.)

As far as off duty time, as long as you stay away from the juicy girls your wallet should be alright. I recommend you go down to E-mart or some other big electronics store thats far away from post to buy all your electronic shwag. It's WAY cheaper there, because all the stores around post raise the prices to about what they would be in the states, knowing that a lot of soldiers will pay it.

Oh, and depending on what unit you go to...be ready to do a lot of running...by your 6 month mark you will feel like you've run up and down every hill in Korea.
Anyway, at the end of the day, it's what you make of it.
