You're not confused Catherine - the active duty list probably won't be out until the first part of August at the earliest. I think Bill was looking at the SELRES and FTS selectee lists.
Reserve list usually comes out earlier as their board convenes earlier. |

You're right, it isn't out. On the goatlocker site, it shows the link,(which I never clicked on), but I just did, and it says not yet.

Nothing to be sorry about. I take it your husband was board eligible for AD? |

Bill - Yes he was. He is an AW(V). This is the first year for that rating exam and board. There were 74 board eligables with a promotion quota of 35. That boils down to a 1 out of 3 change. Those are the best odds we have seen in years. My husband and the other board eligable PO1's do not think there will be a results list until the 30th or 31st. |

That would be the very earliest probably. Not to dash cold water on his hopes, but the board does not have to fill all the quotas for a particular rating. To use your husbands's info as an example, if the board determines that out of the 74 candidates only 10 are qualified to be advanced, they will not fill the other 25 quotas. This has happened before. I do wish your husband the best of luck. |

The board has adjourned...

So, by that rationale, those of us who are waiting for the results would probably liikely hear something in about a week or so? Seeing as if the board has adjourned, that means the Admiral at NPC will look at everything first and then Congress gets their take on the list for a couple of weeks? ET1(SS) Rothfusz |

I hope DH's math is better than yours. Quota of 35 out of 74 SBE's is about 1 of 2. "So, by that rationale, those of us who are waiting for the results would probably liikely hear something in about a week or so? Seeing as if the board has adjourned, that means the Admiral at NPC will look at everything first and then Congress gets their take on the list for a couple of weeks?" I dont think that selection for CPO has reached the rarified atmosphere that requires Congressional approval. CNP is the approval authority for all navy enlisted board selections. |

Not quite. After the board has adjourned, the results are then sent to the Chief of Naval Personnel in Washington, DC. They then do an outcall with the President of the selection board. When the outcall occurs depends on the Admiral's schedule. Congress has no interest/stake in this process. Just because the board has adjourned doesn't mean the results will follow in good order. The reserve selection board convened in May. While I don't know when they adjourned the results were not out until mid-July, which is the latest I've ever seen them come out. I would hope that the active duty results would not take as long to process given the fact the first increment advances 16 Sept. and there is a certain amount of work to be done to help the selectees get ready before then. |

Thank you for checking my math. I went back and looked at the CPO Selection Board page at NPC and realized that I had my numbers confused. The number of board eligables is 74, the possible number of selectees is 26 or 35.14% which is 1 in 3. I hope this sets the record straight. |

After speaking with one of the Master Chiefs on lower base this afternoon, his take on the expected release date is... no earlier than Monday the 3rd of August. Based on a 6 week indoctrination period that about fits with when the results have been coming out lately. I do know one of the Master Chiefs that was on the board. I haven't had a chance to speak with him, and of course I know he can't say anything about the proceedings that he was privy too.
Until the list is out, good luck to all. |

Quite true with regard to the board members not being allowed to discuss the proceedings, slates, etc. However, you can ask him to review your record and see what you need to do to make yourself more competitive next year. He can do that without violating his instructions regarding the board. After all, until you see your name on the list, you have to assume you didn't make it, and start preparing for the next cycle. |
